Peptides for blood pressure
1 peptide · T3 1
One entry, and it is on this page because a regulator tested the claim and the claim failed. Two short peptides left over from fermenting milk are sold in functional foods and supplements for blood pressure. The European Food Safety Authority assessed that claim and concluded that a cause-and-effect relationship had not been established, and the European Commission refused it. Around thirty randomised trials do exist, but most were funded by companies selling the product, and what they measure is a blood-pressure reading over a few weeks rather than whether anyone went on to have fewer heart attacks or strokes. Trials run in Japan report larger effects than trials run in Europe, which is a fact about the evidence rather than about the peptides. One compound is still a page, and this is what a supplement claim looks like after someone official has checked it.
